- The Compact Hardtail vise is lighter weight and more compact than our other vises in the Hardtail Vise Series at 90lbs and 26" overall length.
- Rated for 10,000 lbs of pressure, this vise features the straight pull action of our hardtail vise series, along with an enclosed dynamic jaw.
- Body material is 60,000 PSI Ductile Cast Iron.
6.5" - Compact Hardtail Vise
We do not recommend bolting with tacking bolts (FA75-BTA200) due to the large heads on those bolts interfering with the swivel action. We recommend bolts from the connecting bolt series FA75-PNC150, FA75-PNC220, FA75-PNC330 or any standard 3/4" or 5/8" diameter bolt from fastener stores.
Way grooves underneath the front jaw slide keep vise steady and stable even when fully extended.
Vintage meatball style handle on nose of the vise.
Swivel base locks down with two wedge nuts captured in a cast iron raceway.
Thrust bearings for smooth power transmission using large diameter lead screw.

Choosing the Right Vise
Choose the HTV 614 if...
• Your vise lives on a permanent bench in a production shop, machine shop, or
industrial facility
• You regularly work with large parts that exceed the capacity of a standard vise
• Your work involves heavy impacting, pressing, or torquing where vise failure is
unacceptable
• You want the world's strongest bench vise and want to own it once, for life
• You're replacing a heavy vintage vise (Reed 106, Wilton 800s, Morgan 8) and
want modern engineering with available parts
Choose the HTV 510 if...
• Your vise lives on a service truck, trailer, or job site rather than a permanent shop
bench
• You need maximum performance at minimum weight — every pound matters for
your setup
• Field durability and weather resistance are non-negotiable requirements
• You're replacing a Reed, Snap-On, or similar service vise and want a provable
upgrade
• You want the same Fireball engineering in a mobile-ready format
